All songs sung, all dances danced, all pieces played, all speeches made, all smiles smiled, all farewells waved. The semester ended in one long day where everything came to a climax in first our singing recital and then the goodbye party for one of the professors. In the end it lasted not two but almost five hours because every single student and colleague wanted to give him a good send-off into retirement. Unwillingness to leave, big emotions, a chain of fantastic performances*, lots of laughs, and now the silence that follows such a full day.
Leaves me feeling empty all of a sudden.
